Chapel Hill's annual festival takes place from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Town of Cary Haunted House -- For younger boys and ghouls should come between 5 to 6:30 p.m. for scary games, stories and refreshments. Older guests are invited for bone-chilling terror tours from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $1 at the door. For more information, call (919) 469-4061.
The Hall of Terror features both scary attractions and a not-so-scary free Halloween Zone for children eight and under. Admission is $10 per person or a $13 combo pass,w hich includes the Hall of Terror and one Adventure Landing activity. Open at 7 p.m. Oct. 25-31.
