HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. -- About 35,000 marijuana plants worth an estimated $84 million were seized in a bust Tuesday, according to the Harnett County Sheriff's Office.

Eight plots of the plant were found in a wooded area off Womack Road in Broadway. The plants ranged in sizes from one foot to four feet.  Their value is estimated at $84 million, police said.

Police said the setup was "elaborate." Numerous items were located and seized that were used to water, fertilizer and protect the plants from animals and insects.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the bust, which was part of a Marijuana Eradication in the county.

The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.  Anyone with information should call 910-893-0100.
