CREEDMOOR, N.C. -- Another bear sighting occurred Monday, this time in Creedmoor.
The North Carolina Wildlife Commission responded to reports of bear sightings in Wake and Durham Counties Sunday. At least eight reports came in Sunday morning between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Monday, a man told NBC17 he saw a bear running through his neighborhood. He said one of his neighbors ran out with a shotgun but didn't catch the bear.
Creedmoor police they received about six calls around 5:30 p.m. Monday regarding the bear sightings. Police say last time the bear was scene it was heading south toward Highway 15.
Police have been told to leave the bear alone unless it gets into someone's backyard.
If that happens, the Wildlife Commission will handle the situation.
