CARY, N.C. - A man accused of bigamy in Cary may have more wives than originally thought.

Keron Wilkins is accused of being married to two different women at the same time -- but now there is now a third woman chiming in.

Most married men who get in trouble have answer to one wife; if Wilkins pays the $3,000 bond he's facing for bigamy charges, he may have three wives to answer to.

Cary police say it's a situation they've never seen.

"I personally have never charged anybody with that crime," said Captain Michael Williams.

Earlier this week, Dawn Stone-Wilkins turned in her newlywed husband after she found out he was already married to a Clayton woman, and had been since 2000.

Then, late Wednesday night, she heard from Jenean Baker, an Atlanta woman who says she also married Wilkins in 2005.

"I am wife number two," said Baker in a phone interview. "Me and wife number one tried to make a case back in '06 and were brushed to the wayside. No one took it serious."

"They didn't know about me, but they knew about each other," said Stone-Wilkins. "And both of their stories were they both initiated divorce or an annulment, but however it never went through."

Despite the confusion of the whole mess, the two women say they can't help but laugh at some of the strangeness.

"She sends me three e-mails full of all of these lovely pictures of them being married in Florida," said Stone-Wilkins. "And I said 'Dag, he's wearing the same outfit he had on when he got married to me. That must be his wedding outfit.'"

Baker says she can't help but wonder if anyone else is married to Wilkins who might turn up.

"I know there's several other women, because I get strange calls every now and then from women that check his phone and call me back. But I don't think they're married," said Baker.

The women say if there are more wives, they hope they figure out what's going on as well.

"If there is another female that is pregnant by him, has a child, has been married, to come forward because this is an injustice to all of us," said Stone-Wilkins

Wilkins' first wife but she did not return calls from NBC17.

Cary police say they're still trying to figure out jurisdiction issues, and don't know which agency will charge Wilkins if they determine he is indeed married to all three women.
