CARY, N.C. - A Cary woman is speaking out after finding out that her newlywed husband was allegedly married to another woman.

 

 

Keron Wilkins was arrested on bigamy charges Tuesday in Clayton. 

 

Cary Police say he's been married since 2000 to one woman, and then got married again this March, yet he never divorced his first wife.

 

His new wife, Dawn Stone-Wilkins, said that she started getting suspicious a short time after the wedding, but never realized exactly what happened until she talked to his mother and got a late-night phone call from the first wife.

 

"I've been waiting for this call," said Stone-Wilkins. "I said 'How did you get my number?' and she said 'Well I got it out of his phone.' I said, 'Excuse me?' She said, 'Well he's in the other room in our bed asleep, and I'm in our daughter's room.' I said, 'Excuse me?' She said, 'And I'm Keron's wife.' And I said, 'Well how are you Keron's wife when I'm Keron's wife?'"

 

Stone-Wilkins says she still loves her husband, but is already working on annulling the marriage.

 

As of 5 p.m. today, Keron Wilkins is still in custody with a $3,000 bond.

 

Police are still investigating to see if he has any other marriages.
