Wake Forest Road Reopens After Gas Leak

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Wake Forest Road has been re-opened following Wednesday afternoon's natural gas leak.
The road had been blocked off between the Beltline and Six Forks Road while crews repair a gas leak on a 2-inch service line. Police are directing traffic around the area.
Northbound traffic on Wake Forest Road is being diverted onto Six Forks Road. Southbound traffic on Wake Forest is being diverted onto the Beltline.

The inner loop Beltline exit for Wake Forest has been closed. The outer loop exit remains open at present, but exiting vehicles can go only northbound on Wake Forest.
Applebee's, Lifestyle Fitness, Vitamin World and a car wash have been evacuated and are closed.
According to PSNC Energy, the leak was caused by construction work in the area. The call came in at about 10:40 a.m.
