FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Police have closed B Street from Person Street to Grove Street due to a natural gas leak. 

The leak was caused due to maintenance/construction taking place in the area by PWC.  The Fayetteville Fire Department’s Haz-Mat has responded.

Streets that feed into B Street which include School, Link and Adam Streets will be blocked off at B Street.  No evacuations have taken place at this time.

Residents are asked to avoid the area if possible.  It is unknown how long the street will be closed as crews work to repair the gas line.  The original call came in at approximately 9:50 a.m.
