Yvette Yeon

Yvette Yeon is very happy to be in the ranks of some of the best in the business at NBC 17, Raleigh. She is a reporter with focus in growth and infrastructure, a huge a beat in the Triangle.

Yvette is happy to make Raleigh her home. Originally from southern California, Yvette left her home state to work for ABC NewsChannel 20 in Springfield, Illinois for the past two years. Tornados, ice storms, and a lot of snow, you name it she’s dealt with weather people here would call unbearable.

One of her most memorable moments in news is when she interviewed Senator Barack Obama. Obama announced he is running for president in Springfield, Il. One of her unforgettable moments on television is when she had to duck under a drive-thru bank parking lot to hide from a major Tornado.

Yvette brings big city news experience from her previous internships at KNBC Los Angeles and KGPE Fresno, California. Rubbing elbows with people at the top of their game, Yvette loves the challenge of getting the best story out.

Born in Seoul, Korea, but raised in Los Angeles, Yvette loves the adventures this career brings.

Yvette graduated from California State University, Cal Poly Pomona. She studied both print and broadcast journalism.
