Geneen Anderson joined the NBC17 Weather Plus team in December 2005 to report on the Tar Heel state's dynamic weather scene. She now can be seen on the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts on weekends.

A native of Cleveland, Geneen has long been fascinated by the weather. Her career as a weather forecaster, environmental, medical and general assignment reporter has taken her to six cities, including a stint at WABC-TV in New York City and The Weather Channel in Atlanta.

Geneen Holds a bachelor's degree in telecommunications from Bowling Green State University. She continues her study of meteorology and is a member of the National Weather Association and the National Association of Black Journalists.

When she's not keeping her eye to the sky, Geneen plans to become an active member in the community. Also, she enjoys theater, reading, working out, shopping and pampering her spoiled silky terrier, J. Pierre.
