Frank Graff

Before joining NBC 17 News, Frank was a reporter for Local WKRC-TV in Cincinnati. In 2002, Frank became the first winner of a national Emmy Award for local spot news coverage, winning it and a local Emmy for coverage of Cincinnati riots.

Frank previously was a legislative reporter for WBAL-TV in Baltimore. During that time, Frank covered some landmark events in Baltimore history, including Pope John Paul II’s visit -- Frank was granted an audience with the Pope at the Vatican before he arrived in Baltimore! Frank also covered the launch of the space shuttle that carried a Baltimore astronaut.

Before residing in Baltimore, Frank worked in Maine and West Virginia for several years, as both a reporter and anchor. He started with WSET-TV, in Lynchburg, Va., and then moved to Norfolk, Va., as a reporter.

Frank received his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Ohio University. He continued his education at Ohio University and received a Master’s degree in political science.

The Radio and Television News Directors' Association honored Frank for his work in 1999, 2000 and 2001. His most recent awards were Communicators for Riot coverage and Kentucky Tobacco Auctions. He has also won a Communicator Award of Excellence for a story on a white minister in a black Covington church and Communicator Award of Distinction for Johnny Banana Tree -- the story of a trucker who plants banana trees across Ohio. Those awards join a list of others Frank has won throughout his career.
